There is no lifeguard on duty.

Danny lived across the alley from Eric at the University of Iowa back in the day. After graduating, he took a job in Chicago and was a founding member of Beatnik Turtle from 1997 until 2002. During those years, Danny sat in on several occasions with The Bridgeburners, and made his debut as an official memeber in 2003, sharing drum and percussion duties with Tom.

Interesting factoid: You know those windchimes that drummers like Phil Collins put on their kits? Danny don't play dat.

Tom grew up in McHenry, IL where he went to school with his future wife Jenny, whose best friend was Eric's future wife Heidi. Funny how these things work out, isn't it? Years go by, the band is looking for a drummer, one thing leads to another, and now Tom has to haul his kit down from the Wisconsin/Illinois border everytime we play a show. Behind the kit he is one mean mutha-- (shut your mouth!) But I'm talkin' 'bout Tom.

Interesting factoid: Tom can assemble, break down, and reassemble his drum kit in the time it takes Matt to set up his keyboard stand.

Eric Elmer

Home: Palatine, IL
Marital Status: Married to Heidi

Eric grew up on the mean streets of Skokie, IL where human life was often worth less than the next fix of matzo ball soup. He picked up the guitar at 16 and played in a series of just-for-fun bands in the late 80's and early 90's, including Vanishing Red and the Wild Grapes, The Carpetbaggers, Clambake, and The Midnight Ramblers. Eric is the primary lyricist for The Bridgeburners.

Interesting factoid: First album purchase, age 13: Huey Lewis & The News. Ha ha!

Bill Morse

Primary Influences: Beatles, Little Feat, Stones, Ry Cooder, Tom Petty
Home: Whitefish Bay, WI
Marital Status: Married to Lori
Day Job: Illustrator/Graphic Designer
Drink: Coke
Digs: film, books, history, yoga

Bill joined the band in September of 2000, after several years of working with the guys on various side projects. As a veteran of the midwestern country rock scene of the early 1970's, Mr. Morse fit the ideological bill perfectly. Outside of the band, Bill pursues numerous other musical and creative projects, which you can find out about by clicking here.

Interesting factoid: Bill lived in New York in the late 70's, and one day passed John Lennon on the street.

Matt Pederson

Primary Influences: Black Crowes, High and Lonesome, Son Volt
Home: Carpentersville, IL
Marital Status: Married to Shelley
Day Job: Project Manager
Drink: canned beer
Digs: Vikings football, pro audio, late nights

Matt was born close to Canada, and as such maintains a helpless appreciation for Rush. He spent his high school and college years as a fancy-pants tenor vocalist who toured the U.S. and Europe with his choir. But he gave it all up for rock and roll. Though he started out primarily as the keyboard player, Matt now plays a great deal of guitar in The Bridgeburners, and tends to arrange the harmonies.

Interesting factoid: Matt was the last band member to experiment with facial hair. Unlike the others, the experiment was a success.

Jerry Waggoner
Birthdate: December 16

Primary Influences: ZZ Top, Duane Allman, Little Feat, Beatles
Home: Hannover Park, IL

Drink: Southern Comfort
Digs: poker, movies, games
Favorite song to perform: Born on the Bayou

Jerry grew up in Chicago and went to the same high school as Eric for a few years before moving in 1988 with his family to Grand Rapids, MI. He got a lot of stage experience as an actor and director in local community theater and with his improv group, "Last Minute Improv" who occasionally reunite for special appearances. In addition to his blazing slide guitar, Jerry can play bass, some drums, and can shake a tambourine like a mad bastard.

Interesting factoid: Jerry hates to vomit.

Diona Waggoner
Birthdate: April 20
Instruments: vocals
Primary Influences: Sheryl Crow, Billie Holiday
Home: Hannover Park, IL
Marital Status: Married (to Jerry), with dog.
Day Job: Computers
Drink: Vodka tonic
Digs: Cubs baseball, cinema
Favorite song to perform: Can't Let Go

The Bridgeburners are known to mix it up, t'row firebombs and hot mops, and slap you in the mouth, because we are silly like that. They call us Rubberneck. Anyhoo, one of the ways we most like to change gears is by getting Diona up to sing with the band. After a barrage of sweaty dudes have barked into the mic for an hour, it's usually a welcome breath of fresh female goodness when D is in the house and ready to throw down old school, as she brings flavors from classic country to punk-ass punk. Watch this space for info on her upcoming solo project.

Interesting factoid(s): Diona's cat Pokey is 47 calendar years old, and she shares her birthday with Hitler.
